ABOUT THE EVENT
Freeride World Qualifier – FWQ
The FREERIDE WORLD TOUR (FWT) has been uniting the best freeride skiers and snowboarders on the planet for ten years in the world championship consisting of five stops. In 2022, 50 athletes will compete on legendary competition slopes to be part of the grand finale, the Xtreme Verbier, the prestigious event that has been held for 26 years. After the first four stops (Spain, Andorra, Canada and Austria) only the best placed riders of each ranking qualify for the final in Verbier (Switzerland), where the world champions in each category will be crowned.
Through the Freeride World Qaulifier Tour (FWQ) every year the 3 best skiers and the 2 best snowboarders of the ranking can qualify for the extremely select starting field of the Freeride World Tour.
FWQ Tour events are categorized from 1 star to 4 star events. The higher the category, the more points you get for the leaderboard
The X OVER RIDE 2023, will be held after the premiere in 2012, the tenth time as FWQ 3 star event.
Since there are already many events in the 1 star and 2 star range, there will be no FWQ 1 star event as a pre-competition this year.
